FasciaReset™ Therapy

Fascial Release-the gentle way!

What is fascia and why should I care?

Fascia (fah-sha) is connective tissue made of collagen fibers that looks similar to a spider web. This connective tissue covers all major structures of the body, including bones, arteries, veins, nerves, muscles and organs. It even covers the spinal column, skull and the brain itself. Fascia is found between the sutures of the cranium, around the pulp of our teeth and even in our eyes. It prevents friction between bodily structures during movement, enabling them to move smoothly against each other. Additionally, it interconnects all of our systems, all of our cells, which is why issues in one area of the body can affect other areas. It turns out that acupuncture has been treating our fascia all along - an acupuncture treatment can relax the entire fascia body. That explains the feeling of deep relaxation post treatment.

Fascia research shows that the fascia is highly innervated (full of nerve endings) and is constantly giving feedback to the brain. This innervation means that our fascial system is responsible for much of our proprioception— our position sense, our muscle coordination and our spatial awareness. Damage or restriction to our fascia can cause muscles to turn off or on, or can cause us to be off balance or in pain.

Our fascia can be impacted by many things in both positive and negative ways. Many of our falls, slips, automobile accidents, concussions, as well as chronic repetitive movements (think baseball pitcher or hours on a computer) and surgeries can cause our fascia to stiffen, creating imbalance. These imbalances may not even be noticed by us initially, but eventually these restrictions in our fascia can result in unexplained pain and discomfort, i.e. nerve pain, limited range of motion, headaches, lack of muscle tone, balance issues, confusion, etc. While we know other habits can cause problems for the fascia - like dehydration, poor sleep, poor diet and a sedentary lifestyle, we continue to discover that this is just the tip of the iceberg. It seems even things like high levels of stress and emotional trauma can play a big part in the health of our fascia as well. We need our fascia to be healthy and supple to live our best, pain-free lives. Let Stone Wellness help you Reset your fascia and enjoy the freedom you will find in your body and mind.

Based on our experience of working with thousands of patients, we are able to locate and release the fascial restrictions that have built up over the years and essentially “Reset” your system to have you feeling more like yourself after just a few treatments. In this highly effective and gentle method of manual therapy, we are able to release even the deepest fascial restrictions, making it wonderfully effective for brain injuries, spinal injuries, falls and much more.

Once released, many patients ask, “How can I keep my fascia healthy?”

•Hydration. •Healthy diet. •Get good sleep. •Movement •Infrared Sauna

Note: Changing up your routine is helpful - don’t do the same things every day. Make your brain work. If you have a sitting job, get up and move every 30 minutes or so, take deep breaths and stretch. If you have a more physical job - rest.
